I Need Flowers

Rigorous arrangements of colorful and wood-toned squares hold all kinds of possibilities for taking time to look, feel and reflect. In a statement, artist Jill Kyong writes, “I want to build a space where reflection is possible and hope is plausible. If beauty can remind us to slow down, to care, and to connect, then I believe it is worth creating.” Gayle Clemans for the Seattle Times

I Need Flowers, 68 x 96” (set of 35)

We All Need Flowers. This piece offers a moment of calm and joy amid life’s chaos. Bright colors and simplified floral forms create a cheerful pause, like stepping into a field of blossoms. The open-box flowers serve as symbolic vessels, inviting you to set down your burdens. The work provides open spaces in the form of flowers for emotional release.

Designed to be modular, the piece can be configured to suit a specific space. Each panel measures 12 x 12in, and additional rows or columns increase the overall dimensions by fourteen inches, allowing two inches of space between each panel. This flexibility ensures the work can fit in a variety of environments while maintaining its contemplative presence.
