Games with Nikki began during an afternoon of playing video games with Nikki and her roommates in a university dormitory. As we gathered around the screen, I became interested in how the building’s design shaped their relationships. Private rooms encouraged individuality, while the limited common space offered few opportunities for casual connection. Reimagining the dorm layout, this work proposes a more generous shared space, reflecting on how architecture can foster or hinder community.
