Redwood Pillow Bench

The top “pillow” of this bench is carved from a single piece of old-growth redwood, its natural grain and warmth preserved through careful shaping and finishing. The maple seat provides a subtle contrast, emphasizing the tactile beauty of the materials. The bench’s legs are precisely dovetailed at an angle, and the stretcher is mortised in, reflecting a balance of structural integrity and refined craftsmanship.

This work embodies both utility and artistry, offering a sculptural presence while inviting quiet moments of rest and reflection. Each bench is a dialogue between form, material, and the human body—a collector’s piece that harmonizes natural beauty with intentional design.
